We decided to check the ice depth today March 19, 2015 using a couple shovels, chain saw and an axe .

Unfortunately we should have moved further out as we actually cut to the lake bottom in my bay.   The first layer was about 13 cm..followed by about 8 cm of water and then another 45 cm. of ice

The ice was sitting on the bottom dirt so we suspect it is thicker yet further out.   Be aware..this is only in my bay..conditions could be different around the lake.
