Concert…in Muskoka

It is in support for the West Muskoka Food Bank Nov 25 2-4pm at St. James’ Anglican Church.   All performers donate their time and talents so all proceeds go directly to support Dollars for Dinners which is a team of dedicated volunteers who assemble slow cooker meals for families of 4 in freezer bags that the food bank distributes.  Funds also buy slow cookers (our local Home Hardware gives us a deal) which are given to families the first time they come in.  It’s an amazing local program that provides hope and dignity as well as delicious and nutritious meals.

Hope to see you there!

To be able to vote, you will need 3 pieces of information: your voter ID and your PIN (both provided in your voter information letter) and your date of birth which has to have been registered with the Township

We have been informed by the township that 700 of 16,000 TML voters (4%) do not have their birth dates on file and are ineligible to vote until that issue is rectified. To ensure your birth date has been registered, the Township has offered the following helpful information taken directly from their website.

To confirm your date of birth, please check the Voter Registration Portal :

https://www.muskokalakes.ca/content/voter-registration

Complete the required fields on the portal, including your date of birth, and if correct your information will be confirmed.  It is not necessary to contact the Voter Help Line if the information is correct in the portal. If you require any assistance, you can call the municipal office at 705-765-3156 ext. 211 or email vote@muskokalakes.ca.

Fowler Water Survey

On a quest to further keep track of Brandy Lake we need to thank BLA board member Moreen Miller President of Fowler for donating some survey time to help Brandy Lake Association.   The survey was completed about a month ago with the water just below the tree line.   The cost would have been in the thousands for sure.

The measuring base line start was at the 118 bridge…(Outlet Bay) and continued with pings every meter down the river to the beaver dam.  I think the measuring was also taken at the Muskoka Lake entrance

Further measuring was taken top and bottom of the existing “beaver baffler pipe” to ensure the new pipe is placed in the same location per MNRF instructions.

The pipe picture is the original install, I was involved with…about 15 years ago

And a picture of Moreens crew at work.
